Graphene Week 2026
Documenting Europe’s leading graphene and 2D materials conference.

Four days of ideas, discovery and human connection in Porto.
For four days, Porto hosted Graphene Week 2026, bringing together researchers, scientists, entrepreneurs, policymakers and industry leaders from across Europe and beyond. The conference explored the latest developments in graphene, advanced materials, nanotechnology and emerging technologies through keynote lectures, scientific sessions, innovation forums, poster presentations and networking events.
Among the keynote speakers was Nobel Prize winner Andre Geim, whose pioneering work on graphene transformed the field of materials science. Rather than focusing solely on presentations and formal moments, this project documents the people, conversations and atmosphere that define an international scientific conference.
Arrival & Venue
Graphene Week 2026 opened at Super Bock Arena in Porto, welcoming participants from academia, research institutions and industry for four days of scientific exchange and collaboration.

Keynotes & Scientific Sessions
The conference programme featured keynote lectures, scientific presentations and panel discussions covering graphene, nanotechnology, advanced materials and innovation.
Nobel Prize winner Andre Geim joined leading researchers and industry experts to discuss the future of materials science and emerging technologies.

Collaboration & Exchange
Beyond the conference rooms, Graphene Week created opportunities for discussion, networking and collaboration between researchers, institutions and industry partners.

The Human Side of Science
Scientific progress is built not only through research but also through conversations, shared experiences and personal connections. These are the details and moments that happen away from the stage.

“Science advances through collaboration, curiosity and shared knowledge.”
Porto & Community
The city itself became part of the conference experience, creating a setting where scientific exchange continued beyond the venue.

Graphene Week 2026 was not only a gathering of researchers and innovators, but also a space where new ideas, partnerships and future projects took shape. These photographs document both the scientific achievements and the human interactions that define an event of this scale.
